Built on wisdom. Driven by intelligence.
Solomon’s Corporate Solutions, LLC is a Baltimore-based, virtual operations consultancy founded by Courtney Kotlicky. One analyst, a decade of tradecraft, and a preference for a handful of right-fit clients over a large roster.
Trained to observe and report
Courtney Kotlicky is a strategic operations and analysis professional with a background in intelligence research. For close to a decade she was trained, in her words, to observe and report: agency-based training in reading critically, writing assessments, validating sources and building strong hypotheses. The habit it leaves you with is asking “why?” several more times than is socially comfortable.
Solomon’s Corporate Solutions points that discipline at the everyday operations of small organizations: the inherited filing system, the handoff that keeps breaking, the report nobody trusts, the risk nobody has had time to examine.
She writes about this work in The Intelligence Requirement, her blog on Medium.
She is also a small-business owner herself, which shapes how she works. She would rather meet a client face to face, be honest about what they need and what the work requires, and agree on a way forward together than sell a tier of service that would not be relevant.
Four commitments on every engagement
- Human-led
- Technology may support information organization, process mapping or building a deliverable. The questioning, evidence assessment, analysis, prioritization and recommendations are done by a person, and that person is accountable for them.
- Evidence first
- Findings are tied to what the records, the workflow and the people actually show. What the evidence supports is separated from what feels true, and the difference is written down.
- Diagnosis before prescription
- We will not recommend a fix before understanding the problem, and we will not sell the biggest engagement when a focused one answers the question.
- Scoped in writing
- Every engagement runs on a Statement of Work: deliverables, milestones, timeline, responsibilities, fee and payment schedule, agreed before work begins.
Baltimore-based. Virtual. Practical.
The practice is based in Baltimore and runs virtually, which keeps it accessible to organizations anywhere in the United States that need real operational support without adding an internal role. Discovery calls and working sessions happen online; around the Baltimore region we also meet in person when a conversation goes better in the same room.
We work with founder-led businesses, nonprofits and faith-based organizations that are still small enough for one person to hold the whole operation in their head, wherever they are. Where we work.
Why Solomon’s
The tagline is “Built on wisdom. Driven by intelligence.” Wisdom is knowing which question to ask. Intelligence, in the professional sense, is the disciplined work of collecting and weighing evidence until the answer can be defended. The practice is named for the first and runs on the second.
